Housing

Summary

This bill amends the military pay law to change how the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is calculated for service members stationed in the United States. The BAH amount would be set equal to the actual monthly cost of adequate housing in each area, as determined by the Secretary of Defense. The housing cost would be determined for members based on their pay grade and family status. The change modifies the calculation method to base BAH more directly on local housing market costs for military personnel.
