Justice for Murder Victims Act
To ensure that homicides can be prosecuted under Federal law without regard to the time elapsed between the act or omission that caused the death of the victim and the death itself.
Summary
This bill amends federal law to allow homicide prosecutions under U.S. law without any time limitation between the act or omission that caused a death and the death itself. It adds a new provision to the federal homicide statutes establishing that prosecutors may bring charges regardless of how much time has elapsed between the injurious act and the victim's actual death. This addresses situations where an injury inflicted at one time results in death at a later time. The change removes any temporal restriction on federal homicide prosecutions based on the interval between the harmful act and death.
