HR 1285 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Water Infrastructure Subcontractor and Taxpayer Protection Act of 2025
To amend the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act of 2014 to establish payment and performance security requirements for projects, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act to establish payment and performance security requirements for water infrastructure projects receiving federal financing assistance. Projects can satisfy the requirement by complying with state or local payment and performance security requirements if the amount is at least 50 percent of the total construction contract. If no state or local requirements apply or the amount is less than 50 percent, federal bonding requirements must be met instead. The bill aims to ensure adequate financial security for water infrastructure construction projects carried out with federal assistance.
