Summary

This bill directs the Election Assistance Commission to establish a pilot program providing federal funds to local school districts for voter registration initiatives targeting 12th grade students. Eligible districts must apply to participate and must consult with state and local election officials in developing their voter registration programs. The bill requires participating districts to submit reports within 90 days describing the initiatives they carried out and analyzing their effectiveness in reaching high school seniors. The Election Assistance Commission must then compile these reports and submit its own assessment to Congress within 60 days of receiving the final district report. The bill authorizes such appropriations as necessary to carry out the pilot program in fiscal year 2025.
