A state bill is a proposed law in a state legislature — separate from the U.S. Congress. Learn more →
Summary
The bill requires the state comptroller to create a publicly accessible database of not-for-profit organizations that contract with New York State. The database would include nonprofits at various stages of the contracting process, from those being reviewed for approval through those with fully-executed contracts. The database must be searchable by year, category, location, organization name, and include a brief description of each contract's purpose. The comptroller must maintain and keep the database updated, working with relevant state agencies to gather necessary information. The database must be operational and publicly accessible by July 1, 2027.
