Summary
This bill would authorize domestic violence shelters to receive reimbursement for the cost differential when housing a single individual in a room intended for double occupancy when no single-occupancy room is available. For shelters with at least ten beds, reimbursement would begin at fifty percent of the cost differential in fiscal year 2027, increase to seventy-five percent in fiscal year 2028, and reach one hundred percent in fiscal year 2029. For shelters with fewer than ten beds, shelters would receive full reimbursement of the cost differential immediately. The reimbursement applies only to programs serving victims of domestic violence. The bill takes effect immediately.
