HONORING Gabriella Papadatos upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Citizenship Advancement Award on June 2, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and commend those outstanding young individuals within the State of New York whose academic achievements, leadership, and service to their communities have brought honor to their schools, families, and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gabriella Papadatos upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Citizenship Advancement Award to be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Gabriella Papadatos is a Senior at Island Trees High School, where she has distinguished herself as an exceptional student, leader, and role model among her peers; and

WHEREAS, Gabriella Papadatos is recognized as one of the kindest and most mature students at Island Trees High School, consistently demonstrating compassion, integrity, and a strong commitment to her school community; and

WHEREAS, Actively involved in numerous fundraising efforts and school activities, Gabriella Papadatos has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to serving others and contributing positively to her community; and

WHEREAS, Gabriella Papadatos has distinguished herself as a hardworking, motivated, and determined student whose kindness, maturity, and good-natured spirit have earned the admiration and respect of her teachers and peers alike; and

WHEREAS, At the conclusion of her sophomore year, Gabriella Papadatos made the ambitious decision to attend BOCES trade school in pursuit of a cosmetology license, recognizing the value of developing practical skills to support her future aspirations; and

WHEREAS, Balancing the demands of attending BOCES for half of the school day and Island Trees High School for the remainder, Gabriella Papadatos successfully managed her academic responsibilities through discipline, perseverance, and exceptional time management skills; and

WHEREAS, In recognition of her outstanding academic accomplishments, Gabriella Papadatos earned induction into the Honor Society at both schools while challenging herself with rigorous coursework, including AP Language, AP Psychology, and AP Literature; and

WHEREAS, Gabriella Papadatos should further be commended for her longstanding dedication to dance, an art form she has pursued since childhood with passion and discipline; and

WHEREAS, In addition to spending countless hours each week training at her dance studio, Gabriella Papadatos serves as a student teacher, instructing younger dancers in the fundamentals of dance and demonstrating leadership, patience, and mentorship; and

WHEREAS, Last year, Gabriella Papadatos was awarded the prestigious Lauren Andruzzi Scholarship at Modern Rhythms Dance Academy in recognition of her embodiment of the qualities of leadership, dedication, and determination; and

WHEREAS, Through her academic excellence, commitment to personal growth, service to others, and dedication to the arts, Gabriella Papadatos has distinguished herself as an outstanding young citizen worthy of the admiration and respect of her family, school, and community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Gabriella Papadatos upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Citizenship Advancement Award on June 2, 2026; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Gabriella Papadatos.
