AN ACT to authorize Michael Kilbride to receive an accidental disability retirement
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, Michael 2 Kilbride, who was employed by the office of court administration from 3 November 28, 1994 until July 28, 2009, and who was critically injured in 4 January 14, 2009 as a result of an injury on the job and was unable to 5 return to work, and who was denied an accidental disability retirement 6 from the New York state and local retirement system, and who, as of the 7 effective date of this act, is on regular service disability or receiv- 8 ing an ordinary disability benefit, shall be entitled to reapply for an 9 accidental disability retirement from the New York state and local 10 retirement system if, within one year of the effective date of this act, 11 he shall file a written request with the state comptroller. 12 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
