COMMENDING Savannah Rae Corrow, upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2026 Lake Placid Community Day Distinguished Youth Volunteer of the Year Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Savannah Rae Corrow, upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2026 Lake Placid Community Day Distinguished Youth Volunteer of the Year Award to be celebrated on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Community Day Celebration in Lake Placid, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Lake Placid Community Day is an annual event that celebrates the hard work of the community volunteers; and

WHEREAS, In addition to the announcement of the Distinguished Adult and Youth Volunteers of the Year, the annual Community Day event is also intended to promote the many volunteer opportunities available in the region to current and new residents and to both continue and foster the volunteer spirit; and

WHEREAS, With more than 141 hours of community service throughout her high school career, Savannah Rae Corrow consistently gives her time and energies to causes and programs that make a difference; and

WHEREAS, Savannah Rae Corrow volunteers extensively with children and theatre programs; just this year she wrote and directed a middle school play, helping mentor and encourage younger students; and

WHEREAS, Savannah Rae Corrow has devoted many hours to ALS fundraisers and community events, serving others with kindness and enthusiasm; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her service, Savannah Rae Corrow has excelled academically, ranking 6th in her graduating class while balancing the rigorous New Visions Education program; her passion for teaching and students is evident in her classroom work and working with middle schoolers; and

WHEREAS, Whether on stage, backstage, in the classroom, or in the community, Savannah Rae Corrow leads with genuine care for others as evidenced in her participation in choir, band, jazz band, select ensemble, Area All-State, Northern Lights Choir, and numerous plays and musicals all while working two jobs during her time at Lake Placid High School; and

WHEREAS, Savannah Rae Corrow's professionalism, civic duty, and community activities have benefited countless individuals and families throughout the many hours of her dedicated community service and her

efforts have left an indelible mark that will be a positive influence for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, Savannah Rae Corrow's continued passion for volunteering stands as a shining example of dedication and commitment to community and service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commend Savannah Rae Corrow, upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2026 Lake Placid Community Day Distinguished Youth Volunteer of the Year Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Savannah Rae Corrow.
