A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Anthony Bontempo on securing a 2026 Division II State Track and Field Championship title.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Anthony Bontempo as the champion in the boys high jump at the 2026 Division II State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Bontempo's accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for he has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude as an athlete. Indeed, he has exemplified all of the characteristics which are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, integrity, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and at this year's Division II State Track and Field Meet, he placed first in the boys high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 8 inches; and

WHEREAS, By developing such remarkable prowess as a senior member of the Tallmadge High School boys track and field team, Anthony Bontempo has gained the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. His outstanding record of achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and he has inspired countless individuals to excel in numerous areas of endeavor; and

WHEREAS, Track and field events require exceptional strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Anthony Bontempo is to be commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic goals, he has certainly distinguished himself as a true champion; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Anthony Bontempo on his state championship and salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Anthony Bontempo.
