HONORING Gary Paradis upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the Massena Volunteer Emergency Unit
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who voluntarily give outstanding service to the people of the Empire State and whose extraordinary achievements save the lives of their fellow citizens should be recognized because their efforts so profoundly strengthen our shared commitment to family and community life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gary Paradis upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the Massena Volunteer Emergency Unit to be celebrated at the Awards Banquet on August 22, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Volunteer ambulance corps members are an important part of the safety net of America's healthcare system; they provide lifesaving care to those in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, Gary Paradis has consistently demonstrated a level of commitment, dedication, integrity and professionalism which truly exemplifies excellence in the volunteer service; and
WHEREAS, An active member since November 1976, Gary Paradis has held several positions within the Massena Volunteer Emergency Unit including President, EMT and AEMT; and
WHEREAS, Gary Paradis was for many years a CPR and first aid instructor and has shared his knowledge and wisdom as a mentor to many generations of the Massena EMS family; and
WHEREAS, With an untiring dedication to his service, Gary Paradis is always available to offer his help whether a driver is needed, or stopping his everyday life to radio in to pick him up enroute to the call; and
WHEREAS, EMS volunteers unwaveringly serve our great State with pride, valor, and integrity and these respected volunteers are often the first to respond to an emergency, whether the emergency is a medical crisis, fire, transportation accident, natural disaster, or other life threatening event; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of his duties, Gary Paradis has demonstrated his character and his compassion for the welfare of others; he is a tremendous asset to his EMS Unit and a distinguished citizen of the State and Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Gary Paradis upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the Massena Volunteer Emergency Unit; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Gary Paradis.
