SB 1583 - Current law authorizes counties to impose a property tax of $0.05 per $100 assessed valuation for providing services to persons 60 years of age or older. This act increases the allowable levy to $0.10 per $100 assessed valuation. The act also requires the board of directors responsible for the administrative control and management of the Senior Citizens' Services Fund to be accredited by a statewide nonprofit organization advancing the well-being of older adults across the state, as described in the act.
