AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to exempting members of the New York state police from tolls associated with enter- ing on or exiting Ward's island
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new 2 section 1266-o to read as follows: 3 § 1266-o. Toll exemptions for state police on Ward's island. 1. 4 Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, no personal vehicle used 5 by a member of the New York state police shall be charged a toll if the 6 vehicle is used by a member of the New York state police entering on or 7 exiting Ward's island for purposes of performing such member's official 8 duties. 9 2. Application for such toll exemption shall be made in such manner as 10 shall be prescribed by the authority and shall contain such information 11 as the authority may reasonably require. 12 § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall 13 have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or 14 repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of 15 this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed 16 on or before such effective date.
