AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of the state highway system to Sgt Henry Johnson
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 345-e to 2 read as follows: 3 § 345-e. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to Sgt 4 Henry Johnson. The bridge located on Interstate 90, designated as Bridge 5 Number 1092839, which crosses over the Hudson River in the cities of 6 Albany and Rensselaer, counties of Albany and Rensselaer, shall be dedi- 7 cated to Sgt Henry Johnson. 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act, provided that such 11 signing shall state "Bridge Dedicated to Sgt Henry Johnson". However, 12 to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the 13 dedication called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one 14 of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall not be 15 changed as a result of this act. 16 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
