A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Danville High School softball team on winning the 2026 Division VI State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Danville High School softball team as the 2026 Division VI State Champion; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Danville High School softball team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. To culminate their successful season, the Blue Devils overcame the West Jefferson team by a score of 2-0 to earn this year's Division VI State Championship while compiling a 25-5 record. The unwavering commitment of the players and coach has earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, Coach Charlie Duncan has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Danville High School softball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad's outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on the diamond, and he has received respect and admiration from all who know him; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the Danville High School softball team have gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Danville High School softball team as the 2026 Division VI State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Danville High School softball team.
