Summary
The bill directs New York's health commissioner to establish or approve an additional payment rate for pediatric practices that implement the HealthySteps model of care. The HealthySteps model is a nationally recognized approach organized into three tiers of service for children from birth to age six that focuses on family support and behavioral health. Practices must meet specific fidelity criteria to be eligible for the add-on payment. For federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics, the payment would be added on top of their regular reimbursement rates. The bill takes effect on April 1, 2027.
