A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Avon High School 7-on-7 football team as the 2026 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Avon High School 7-on-7 football team on securing the 2026 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Division I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Avon High School 7-on-7 football team has achieved a tremendous feat in overcoming a tough Lakota East squad to win this year's OHSFCA Division I State Title. The Eagles' strong performance, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led the squad to this outstanding victory, and the group has earned the appreciation and admiration of many; and

WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of the Avon High School 7-on-7 football team are fine examples of what can be attained by a group of hard-working young people supported by a dedicated coaching staff such as the one led by Mike Elder and his assistants. Throughout extensive conditioning and training, the members have developed into dynamic competitors, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and

WHEREAS, With great admiration, we congratulate the athletes who comprise the Avon High School 7-on-7 football team, for they have overcome many formidable opponents and displayed tremendous prowess. Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their future challenges, they will take with them the lessons of camaraderie, diligence, and discipline; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, heartily applaud the Avon High School 7-on-7 football team as the 2026 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Division I State Champion and praise the strength of this program and its participating athletes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Avon High School 7-on-7 football team.
