Summary

Michigan HB 5457 creates a hyperbaric oxygen therapy fund in the state treasury to support a hyperbaric oxygen therapy grant program and pilot program. The state treasurer manages the fund, deposits money from any source into it, directs investments, and credits interest and earnings to the fund. The Department of Health and Human Services administers the fund and may only expend money from it for providing grants or establishing and operating the pilot program. After the pilot program ends, the fund must be closed and any remaining money reverts to the state general fund. The bill takes effect only if House Bill 5456, which establishes the hyperbaric oxygen therapy pilot program itself, is also enacted into law.
