COMMEMORATING the 60th Anniversary of Visions Federal Credit Union of Endicott, New York, to be celebrated on May 6, 2026
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor those institutions of enduring significance whose commitment to excellence and service enhances the quality of life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Visions Federal Credit Union, to be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Visions is a not-for-profit financial institution wholly owned by its members, dedicated to providing accessible, reliable, and community-focused financial services; and
WHEREAS, Proudly serving more than 250,000 members across communities in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Visions offers a comprehensive array of services, including banking, as well as auto, home, personal, and business loans; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1966 as the IBM Endicott Employees Federal Credit Union, the organization was founded with the mission of providing affordable credit and a secure place for fellow IBM employees in Endicott to save their money; and
WHEREAS, From its humble beginnings of eight members and just $40 in assets, Visions has grown remarkably to steward more than $5 billion in assets, reflecting decades of prudent management, innovation, and member trust; and
WHEREAS, Originally serving primarily IBM employees, the credit union expanded its field of membership in the 1990s to include the broader community, a transition accompanied by its name change to Visions Federal Credit Union, signaling a renewed and inclusive mission; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating continued growth and commitment to the region, the organization opened its new headquarters in Endwell, New York, in 2019, further solidifying its presence and investment in the local community; and
WHEREAS, Today, Visions Federal Credit Union employs more than 900 individuals, contributing significantly to the economic vitality of the region while maintaining its core values of service, integrity, and member ownership; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its six decades of service, Visions has remained steadfast in its mission to improve the financial well-being of its members and the communities it serves, embodying the very spirit of cooperation and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge and commend such an outstanding institution whose longevity and success stand as a testament to its dedication, leadership, and vision; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Visions Federal Credit Union of Endicott, New York, to be celebrated on May 6, 2026; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Visions Federal Credit Union.
