Senate Resolution No. 1948

COMMENDING New York State 4-H upon the occasion of hosting its 91st Annual Capital Days on May 17-19, 2026
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure and honor that this Legislative Body acknowledges the important milestones across our region that contribute to the character and rich history of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate New York State 4-H upon the occasion of hosting its 91st Annual Capital Days on May 17-19, 2026; and
WHEREAS, New York State 4-H Capital Days is celebrating its 91st year in 2026, marking nearly a century of empowering youth through civic engagement, leadership development, and public service education in the heart of the State's capital; and
WHEREAS, 4-H, the nation's largest youth development organization, has a long and distinguished tradition of cultivating leadership, citizenship, and life skills in young people across rural, suburban, and urban communities in all 62 counties of New York State; and
WHEREAS, 4-H is preparing young people to be "Beyond Ready"-ready to lead and ready to serve-as embodied in the young delegates who travel from across the State to Albany to learn about the responsibilities of citizenship, explore careers in government, and bring their voices to the table on issues that affect youth, families, and communities; and
WHEREAS, Over the past 91 years, Capital Days has helped thousands of young New Yorkers gain confidence, knowledge, and inspiration to become engaged citizens, elected officials, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in every corner of society; and
WHEREAS, We commend Cornell Cooperative Extension, dedicated 4-H staff members and volunteers, and the many state officials and public servants who continue to support this vital program, ensuring that young people are informed, empowered, and heard; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those outstanding organizations that have made lasting contributions on behalf of their fellow New Yorkers and have truly left an indelible mark on this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commend New York State 4-H upon the occasion of hosting its 91st Annual Capital Days; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to New York State 4-H.
