AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to establishing the Harlem Unified Community Planning urban renewal agency

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows:

1 Section 1. Article 15-B of the general municipal law is amended by 2 adding a new title 2 to read as follows: 3 TITLE 2 4 HARLEM UNIFIED COMMUNITY PLANNING URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY 5 Section 571. Harlem Unified Community Planning urban renewal agency. 6 § 571. Harlem Unified Community Planning urban renewal agency. A 7 municipal urban renewal agency, to be known as the Harlem Unified Commu- 8 nity Planning urban renewal agency, is hereby established for the accom- 9 plishment of any or all of the purposes specified in articles fifteen 10 and fifteen-A of this chapter and in accordance with article eighteen of 11 the constitution of the state of New York. It shall constitute a body 12 corporate and politic, be perpetual in duration and consist of not less 13 than seven and not more than fifteen members including the Manhattan 14 borough president. The additional members shall be appointed by the 15 Manhattan borough president. It shall have the powers and duties now or 16 hereafter conferred by article fifteen-A of this chapter upon municipal 17 renewal agencies. It shall be organized in the manner prescribed by and 18 subject to the provisions of article fifteen-A of this chapter and the 19 agency, its members, officers and employees and activities shall in all 20 respects be governed by the provisions of such article. 21 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
