HONORING Brenda Rigby Riehle upon the occasion of her retirement after 34 years of distinguished service to Allegany County
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brenda Rigby Riehle upon the occasion of her retirement after 34 years of distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, For the past 34 years, Brenda Rigby Riehle rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to Allegany County; and
WHEREAS, Brenda Rigby Riehle began her service to Allegany County in May of 1992 as an Account Clerk Typist with the Department of Health, then, in 1994, she became a Senior Account Clerk Typist for the Clerk of the Board's Office, and in 1998 she was appointed Clerk of the Board; and
WHEREAS, In 2019, Brenda Rigby Riehle was the Acting County Auditor and in 2020, she served as a Public Information Officer; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Brenda Rigby Riehle has served on a number of committees and boards such as the Ad Hoc Transportation Committee, the Allegany County Affordable Government Group, the Board of Ethics, and the Heroin Opioid Abuse Ad Hoc Committee; she also had a seat on the Inter-County Association of Western New York Resolution Committee; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Clerk of the Allegany County Board of Legislators, Brenda Rigby Riehle served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, Brenda Rigby Riehle has served the New York State Association of Clerks of County Legislative Boards as Program Committee Member from 2002-2004, Association Officer from 2004-2011, Treasurer from 2002-2009, 2nd Vice President from 2009-2011, 1st Vice President from 2011-2013, President from 2013-2015, and Association Officer from 2015-2016; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Brenda Rigby Riehle was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with Allegany County, Brenda Rigby Riehle earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Brenda Rigby Riehle upon the occasion of her retirement after 34 years of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Brenda Rigby Riehle.
