Summary
This New York bill grants retroactive membership in the New York state and local employees' retirement system to Ronald Schultz, an employee of the Erie County Water Authority who failed to enroll in the system during his employment with the Erie County Sewer Authority from July 1, 2002 through November 9, 2002. The bill deems Schultz to have joined the retirement system on July 1, 2002 and grants him Tier IV status, provided he files a written request with the state comptroller within one year of the effective date. Schultz will not receive any refund of contributions he has already made to the retirement system, and all costs associated with implementing this provision will be borne by Erie County.
