S 341 NY
Prohibits certain fees from being imposed by licensed wholesalers
A state bill is a proposed law in a state legislature — separate from the U.S. Congress. Learn more →
Summary
This bill prohibits licensed alcohol wholesalers in New York from imposing any fees on licensed retailers beyond the purchase price of alcoholic beverages. Currently, wholesalers can apparently charge retailers additional fees on top of the cost of the products themselves. This bill eliminates that practice, requiring wholesalers to charge retailers only for the beverages purchased with no additional fees permitted. The bill takes effect ninety days after becoming law.
