Summary
This act amends New York state finance law to transfer authority over the Veterans' Home Services Fund and the Military Family Relief Fund to the Commissioner of Veterans' Services. Currently, the Commissioner of Health certifies vouchers for the Veterans' Home Services Fund and the Commissioner of Taxation and Finance certifies vouchers for the Military Family Relief Fund. Under these changes, the Commissioner of Veterans' Services will certify vouchers for both funds instead. The bill also requires the Commissioner of Veterans' Services to submit an annual report to state legislative leaders and the public detailing how these funds were used, including amounts dispersed, recipients, purposes of awards, and a financial plan.
