Relates to nursing transition and diversion
A state bill is a proposed law in a state legislature — separate from the U.S. Congress. Learn more →
Summary
This bill permanently prohibits nursing home diversion and transition services from being provided to Medicaid recipients through Medicaid managed care programs. These services must instead be delivered through traditional fee-for-service Medicaid. The bill removes a previous time limit that was set to expire on January 1, 2027, making the restriction permanent. Nursing home diversion and transition services are programs designed to help individuals who would otherwise require nursing home care remain in their communities. The law takes effect immediately.
