Summary
This bill allows Michigan local units of government to optionally provide paid military leave or differential pay for employees on active duty in a uniformed service. A differential pay program allows the local government to pay the difference between an employee's local government salary and their military pay if the government salary is higher. The bill's provisions are subject to the military leave for first responders act and only take effect if House Bill 5233 is also enacted.
