SB 1570 - Under current law, a birth certificate may be amended by a court order to reflect a surgical sex change. This act repeals that provision of law. Under this act, the State Registrar shall amend the birth certificate of a person born in this state to indicate a male, female, or X sex designation upon receipt of a statement signed by the person attesting to a gender identity other than that which is recorded on the birth certificate.
