SJRES 86 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "Air Plan Approval; South Dakota; Regional Haze Plan for the Second Implementation Period".
S. J. RES. 86 Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to ``Air Plan Approval; South Dakota; Regional Haze Plan for the Second Implementation Period''.
Summary
This joint resolution provides for congressional disapproval of an Environmental Protection Agency rule approving South Dakota's regional haze air quality plan for the second implementation period. If passed, the resolution would invalidate the EPA rule and prevent it from taking effect. The resolution uses the Congressional Review Act procedure, which allows Congress to disapprove of federal regulations.
