A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed foreign military sale to the Government of Israel of certain defense articles and services.
Providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed foreign military sale to the Government of Israel of certain defense articles and services.
Summary
This joint resolution would block a proposed foreign military sale to the Government of Israel described in Congressional transmittal number 25-34. The sale consists of approximately 35,529 general purpose bomb bodies (MK 84 or BLU-117), 4,000 penetrator warheads, and associated spare parts, accessories, transportation support, and technical and logistics support services. If passed by Congress and not vetoed by the President, the resolution would prohibit the sale from proceeding. Under the Arms Export Control Act, Congress has the authority to disapprove foreign military sales through joint resolutions of this type.
