Summary

This bill amends the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act to remove the cap on funding for the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, changing from a specific authorization of $3 million for fiscal year 2010 to an open-ended authorization allowing "such sums as may be necessary." The bill also removes a section limiting appropriations and reorganizes the statute's sections accordingly. These changes provide flexibility for Congress to appropriate funds based on the council's needs without being constrained by prior authorization limits.
