Harriet Tubman Tribute Act of 2025
To require the Secretary of the Treasury to redesign $20 Federal reserve notes so as to include a likeness of Harriet Tubman, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill requires the Secretary of the Treasury to ensure that all $20 Federal Reserve notes printed after December 31, 2030, shall feature the likeness of Harriet Tubman on the face of the note. The Secretary may delay this implementation by up to two additional years if they determine that issuing the new notes would create an unacceptable risk of counterfeiting or adversely affect the safe and secure functioning of the economy, provided that any such delay is submitted to Congress for review. The bill amends section 16 of the Federal Reserve Act to establish this requirement.
