Renewable Fuel for Ocean-Going Vessels Act
To amend the Clean Air Act to include fuel for ocean-going vessels as additional renewable fuel for which credits may be generated under the renewable fuel program.
Summary
The bill amends the Clean Air Act to include fuel for ocean-going vessels as an eligible renewable fuel for which credits may be generated under the federal renewable fuel program. Previously, the program only covered renewable fuel blended into home heating oil and jet fuel; this bill expands it to include marine fuels for ships. The amendment applies beginning in the second calendar year after enactment. The Environmental Protection Agency must issue regulations within one year to implement the change and report to Congress within one year after issuing final regulations.
