Summary

This bill directs the Secretaries of Labor and Education to establish a partnership promoting connections between apprenticeship programs and college education. It calls for creating a consortium that includes colleges, employers, and apprenticeship sponsors to align apprenticeship training with academic credit and postsecondary education. The consortium would create agreements between colleges and apprenticeships, award academic credit for apprenticeship instruction, and provide electronic transcripts. The bill requires the Secretaries to provide technical assistance and make information about participating programs publicly available. Participation is voluntary for both colleges and apprenticeship sponsors.
