A BILL

To require the Secretary of the department in which the Coast Guard is operating to delegate to the Commandant of the Coast Guard authority to enter into intergovernmental support agreements relating to installation-support services, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Strengthening Coast Guard Communities Act of 2026”.

SEC. 2. COAST GUARD INTERGOVERNMENTAL SUPPORT AGREEMENTS AUTHORITY.

(a) In General.—The Secretary of the department in which the Coast Guard is operating (referred to in this section as the “Secretary”) shall delegate to the Commandant of the Coast Guard (referred to in this section as the “Commandant”) the authority of the Secretary under section 2679 of title 10, United States Code.

(b) Notification.—Not later than 60 days after the date on which the Commandant exercises the authority of the Secretary under section 2679 of title 10, United States Code, in accordance with subsection

(a), the Commandant shall submit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives a written notification of such exercise of authority. <all>
