To prohibit the sharing of certain information about Federal law enforcement officers, and for other purposes.
Summary
The BLUE Act amends federal criminal law to extend existing protections to federal law enforcement officers by prohibiting the disclosure of information about these officers with the intent to physically obstruct, interfere with, or retaliate against their lawful duties or official proceedings. The bill expands the definition of protected information to include physical locations where federal law enforcement officers are or are expected to be present, whether on or off duty. The legislation applies these protections to prevent aiding other individuals in interfering with or retaliating against federal law enforcement officers.
