Davis-Bacon Repeal Act

To repeal the wage requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act.

Introduced Apr 30, 2026

Latest action (Apr 30, 2026) Read twice and referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

Summary

This bill repeals the Davis-Bacon Act's wage requirements, which currently require contractors working on federally-funded construction projects to pay workers the prevailing wage rate for their locality and trade. The repeal takes effect 30 days after the bill is enacted. However, the repeal does not apply to construction contracts that are already in place or to contracts made pursuant to bids that were outstanding when the bill takes effect, meaning those projects would still be subject to prevailing wage requirements.
