Summary

The bill prohibits the United States from making any contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), including to any successor or related entities, or to the UN regular budget for UNRWA support. It also prohibits federal funding for U.S. delegations to UN agencies, bodies, or commissions that are chaired or presided over by countries that the Secretary of State has determined to support acts of international terrorism. Additionally, the bill restricts federal contributions to any UN organization, agency, commission, or program led by such countries. The bill also revokes the legal immunities and exemptions that UNRWA officials and employees would otherwise have under U.S. and international law. The effect is to eliminate U.S. funding for UNRWA and restrict U.S. participation in certain UN entities based on the leadership's designated support for terrorism.
