Strengthening American Nuclear Energy Act of 2026
To codify certain Executive orders relating to nuclear energy.
Summary
This bill converts four executive orders relating to nuclear energy into law. The executive orders, signed on May 23, 2025, address reforming nuclear reactor testing at the Department of Energy, deploying advanced nuclear reactor technologies for national security, reforming the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and reinvigorating the nuclear industrial base. By codifying these executive orders as law, they would remain in effect regardless of future changes to executive policy. The executive orders are specifically identified with their Federal Register citations.
