Summary

This bill requires the Chief of Space Operations to submit a report to Congress within one year on the feasibility and advisability of expanding the Multinational Force Operation Olympic Defender to include additional allies in the Indo-Pacific region, specifically Japan and the Republic of Korea. The report must identify current activities toward expansion, policy changes needed by potential partner countries to receive formal invitations, and funding and policy changes necessary for accession. The report must also assess impacts on U.S. national security interests, whether accession by Japan and the Republic of Korea is feasible and in the national interest, and what additional resources or authorities are needed from the executive and legislative branches to facilitate accession.
