Summary

This bill amends the Post-9/11 Educational Assistance Program for veterans administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill increases the stipend for books, supplies, equipment, and other educational costs from $1,000 to $1,500 per year. The bill also increases the monthly living stipend amounts from $83 to $128. Beginning in fiscal year 2026, the bill requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide annual percentage increases to these stipends based on changes in the Consumer Price Index. These annual adjustments will automatically reflect inflation in education and living costs.
