Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

Summary

This bill amends the 1989 Puyallup Tribe of Indians Settlement Act to clarify that the Puyallup Tribe of Indians may withdraw amounts from its Settlement Trust Fund. Withdrawals would be allowed pursuant to the American Indian Trust Fund Management Reform Act of 1994, subject to a management plan approved by the Secretary. The bill also adds a savings provision stating that nothing in the settlement act prevents the United States from engaging with the tribe on the same basis as other federally recognized Indian tribes under any federal law enacted after this bill becomes law.
