Summary

This bill authorizes the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide produce prescriptions to veterans as a covered medical benefit. A produce prescription allows the VA to give veterans with diet-related chronic conditions and limited access to food vouchers or debit cards to purchase fruits and vegetables. The benefit is designed to help veterans improve their diet and manage chronic conditions through better nutrition.
