S 3629 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Transportation Project Accountability Act of 2026
To amend title 23, United States Code, to require States to make publicly available information on the selection of certain projects, and for other purposes.
Summary
S 3629 requires states to publicly report information about transportation projects costing over $10 million that are selected for federal funding. States must publish annual reports identifying selected projects, explaining the reasons for their selection, and providing performance scores based on alignment with state and national transportation goals. The reports must include anticipated benefits and estimated costs for each project and explain the metrics used to score projects. States must also track and report on whether selected projects achieve their projected benefits and cost-effectiveness targets, incorporating this performance review into future planning.
