Summary

This bill amends the Social Security Act to eliminate waiting periods for disability insurance benefits that normally apply to individuals with metastatic breast cancer. It also waives the 24-month waiting period that typically must pass before individuals receiving disability benefits become eligible for Medicare coverage, making this exception apply to those diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. These changes would take effect for disability benefit applications filed after the bill's enactment and for Medicare benefits in months beginning after enactment.
