S 3272 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Motorcycle Safety Awareness Act of 2025
To amend title 23, United States Code, with respect to motorcyclist safety, and for other purposes.
Summary
The Motorcycle Safety Awareness Act of 2025 amends federal highway safety law to strengthen requirements for state motorcyclist safety programs. The bill requires that driver education and driver safety courses include instruction and testing on motorcyclist awareness, including state-specific motorcycle laws such as lane-splitting and lane-filtering rules. It also mandates instruction on share-the-road principles designed to increase awareness of motorcyclists and scooter riders. The law increases the number of criteria states must meet for their motorcyclist safety programs from at least two to at least three, with the new driver education requirement being mandatory. The amendments take effect two years after enactment.
