Ms. Hassan (for herself and Mr. Cornyn) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
A BILL
To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to authorize State and local cybersecurity grants for fiscal year 2026, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the “State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program Reauthorization Act”.
SEC. 2. FEDERAL SHARE.
Section 2220A(m)(1) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 665g(m)(1)) is amended—
(1) in subparagraph (A)—
(A) in clause (iii), by striking “and” at the end; and
(B) by adding at the end the following:
“(v) for fiscal year 2026, 60 percent; and”; and
(2) in subparagraph (B)—
(A) in clause (iii), by striking “and” at the end;
(B) in clause (iv), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and
(C) by adding at the end the following:
“(v) for fiscal year 2026, 70 percent.”.
SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.
Section 2220A(r)(1) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 665g(r)(1)) is amended—
(1) in subparagraph (C), by striking “and” at the end;
(2) in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and
(3) by adding at the end the following:
“(E) for fiscal year 2026, $300,000,000.”.
SEC. 4. TERMINATION.
Section 2220A(s)(1) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 665g(s)(1)) is amended by striking “September 30, 2025” and inserting “September 30, 2026”. <all>
