Summary

This bill amends the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to expand eligible uses of Community Development Block Grant funding. It allows cities, counties, states, and Indian tribes that receive this federal funding to use it for constructing new residential housing for low- and moderate-income persons. The funding can be used independently or in partnership with nonprofit organizations. This expands the types of housing-related projects that communities can fund with federal community development grants.
