Pit River Land Transfer Act of 2025
To take certain Federal land in the State of California into trust for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill transfers approximately 583.79 acres of Federal land in California (called Four Corners Federal land) from the Forest Service into trust for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe. Once taken into trust, the land becomes part of the Tribe's Reservation and will be administered by the Secretary of Interior under standard Federal trust property laws. The bill prohibits any class II or class III gaming on the transferred land. The Secretary of Interior is required to conduct a complete survey of the land within 180 days of the bill's enactment. The transfer excludes approximately 20.03 acres of existing roads, highways, and public rights-of-way with current easements.
