S 2869 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Federal Government Spectrum Inventory Act
To require the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to issue an annual report regarding the use of spectrum by the Federal Government in certain bands of frequencies, and for other purposes.
Summary
The bill requires the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to publish an annual report detailing how federal agencies use radio spectrum in certain frequency bands between 225 megahertz and 50 gigahertz. The report must include information about current frequency allocations, authorized frequency assignments, the major systems using each frequency band, and planned future uses. The report will be made available to the public on NTIA's website, though it will include a classified section that remains confidential. The first report must be completed within 180 days of the bill's enactment, with subsequent reports issued annually.
